A glycolytic inhibitor that inhibits hexokinase II activity, suppresses ATP production, and induces endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress; potentiates acetate-induced apoptosis and anti-proliferative effect in CRC cells; abrogates MUC1-mediated radiation resistance both in vitro and in vivo pancreatic cancer models, by reducing glucose flux into nucleotide biosynthetic pathways and enhancing DNA damage.
