7ACC2 is a potent inhibitor of mitochondrial pyruvate transport (MPC) with IC50 of 11 nM, consecutively blocks extracellular lactate uptake by promoting intracellular pyruvate accumulation; induces cytotoxic effects together with glycolysis stimulation and uncompensated inhibition of mitochondrial respiration in cancer cells, sensitizes tumor xenografts to radiotherapy.
