BC-1901S is a potent small molecule NRF2 activator that stabilizes NRF2 and increases NRF2 activity, activates NRF2 by inhibiting NRF2 ubiquitination in a KEAP1-independent manner.
BC-1901S increased NRF2-dependent anti-oxidant gene transcription, and exhibited anti-inflammatory effects in vitro.
BC-1901S directly bound to DDB1 and CUL4 Associated Factor 1 (DCAF1) and disrupted NRF2/DCAF1 interaction, DCAF1 is an E3 ligase that targeted NRF2 for proteasomal degradation.
BC-1901S was also protective in a murine model of LPS-induced lung injury by reducing the magnitude of inflammatory responses.
