Biological Activity

CNiBuC is the 5′-isobutyril ester prodrug of 1'-cyanocytidine and a reversible, competitive inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), shows anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity with EC50 of 3.6 uM in Vero cells.
CNiBuC had micro-to-nanomolar anti–SARS-CoV-2 activity in Vero, Calu-3, and Caco-2 cell lines.
CNiBuC (50 and 100 mg/kg, i.p., twice daily)reduces infectious virus titers against DELTA SARS-CoV-2 variant in Syrian hamsters.
