Cinacalcet (AMG 073) hydrochloride is a calcimimetic agent that acts as an allosteric activator of CaSR.
Cinacalcet (AMG 073) increases the concentration of cytoplasmic Ca(2+) in human embryonic kidney 293 cells expressing the human parathyroid CaR with EC50 of 51 nM.
Cinacalcet (AMG 073) decreases PTH secretion from cultured bovine parathyroid cells with IC50 of 28 nM.
Cinacalcet (AMG 073) is used for the treatment of tertiary hyperparathyroidism.
