Biological Activity

Clocinizine is a chlorinated analogue of cinnarizine, shows potent antischistosomal activity against both male and female parasites with EC50 and EC90 of 4.6 uM and 5.9 uM respectively.
Clocinizine demonstrated a clear time- and concentration-dependent effect on both male and female worms.
Clocinizine (400 mg/kg) significantly reduced the total worm burden by 86.4% (P < 0.001) in animal model infected with S. mansoni.
