Biological Activity
ETX1975-3 is a potent Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) cytochrome bd oxidase (Cyt-bd) inhibitor with ATP IC50 of 1.7 uM and MIC of 5.0 uM for M. abscessus ΔqcrCAB strain.
ETX1975-3 inhibits oxygen consumption with IC50 values of 0.6 mM in M. tuberculosis N0145 and 5.6 mM in M. tuberculosis H37Rv.
ETX1975-3 targets cyt-bd, and that the drug disrupts the electron transfer between the b-hemes centers.

ETX1975-3 in combination with Q203, is bactericidal against M. tuberculosis, retains activity against a panel of M/XDR M. tuberculosis clinical isolates, and also shows efficacy against nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM).
