GB1490 is a potent, selective and orally available galectin-1 (gal-1) inhibitor with Kd value of 0.4 uM and 0.23 uM for human and mouse galectin-1, respectively.
GB1490 displays 25-fold specificity for galectin-1 over galectin-3 in mice.
GB1490 inhibits galectin-1-induced apoptosis of Jurkat cells with an IC50 value of 2.30 uM, but not OTX008.
GB1490 works as a functional tool binding to the CRD of galectin-1 at nM affinity and can in cell systems inhibit galectin-1-driven pharmacology.
