GSK205 is a selective small molecule TRPV4 channel inhibitor with IC50 of 4.19 uM; diminishes the chondrocytes' response to hypo-osmotic stress, reducing the fraction of Ca(2+) responsive cells, the regulatory volume decrease, and PGE(2) production in chondrocytes; attenuates the DEP-evoked Ca2+ response, reduces secreted MMP-1 in response to DEP in TRPV4 transfection in BEAS-2B cells.
