GSK 2837808A is a potent, specific, NADH-competitive lactate dehydrogenase-A (LDH-A) inhibitor with IC50 of 2.6 nM, >10-fold selectivity over LDHB.
GSK 2837808A rapidly and profoundly inhibits lactate production rates in multiple cancer cell lines (EC50=0.4 uM in Snu398 cells) including hepatocellular and breast carcinomas.
GSK 2837808A reduces glucose uptake and increases mitochondrial oxygen consumption, dose dependently inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis in Snu398 cells.
