Irosustat (STX-64, BN-83495, Oristusane, 667-coumate) is an orally active, highly potent, irreversible, nonsteroidal inhibitor of steroid sulfatase (STS) with IC50 of 8 nM; inhibits the production of locally active estrogens and so inhibit estrogen-dependent cell growth in tumor cells; inhibits estrone sulfate-stimulated growth of uteri in ovariectomized rats.
