MM3122 (MM-3122) is a selective inhibitor of host cell serine protease TMPRSS2 with IC50 of 0.34 nM against recombinant full-length TMPRSS2 protein.
MM3122 inhibits cytopathic effects induced by SARS-CoV-2 virus in Calu-3 cells with EC50 of 74 nM.
MM3122 blocks host cell entry into Calu-3 human lung epithelial cells of a newly developed VSV-SARS-CoV-2 chimeric virus (EC50=0.43 nM), an EC50 of 74 nM in inhibiting cytopathic effects induced by SARS-CoV-2 virus in Calu-3 cells.
MM3122 inhibits VSV pseudotype MERS viral entry into human Calu-3 lung epithelial cells with EC50 of 0.87 nM.
MM3122 has excellent pharmacokinetics (PK) and safety in mice and is thus a promising lead candidate drug for COVID-19 treatment.
