MMV688845 ((R)-GSK1729177A) is a small molecule inhibitor of M. abscessus complex with MIC90 of 5-10 uM for various M. abscessus strains in vitro, targets the RpoB subunit of RNA polymerase, also shows anti-M. tuberculosis.
MMV688845 is active against intracellular M. abscessus with an MIC90 of 16 uM.
MMV688845 induces significant reduction of colony forming units of M. abscessus strain ATCC 19977 with MBC90 of 15 uM. MMV688845 exhibits bactericidal activity in a macrophage infection model.
