NPD6433 is a novel broad-spectrum antifungal agent with MIC <10 ug/mL against C. albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida auris, and C. neoformans, inhibits Fas1 enoyl reductase activity.
NPD6433 also shows bioactivity against A. fumigatus.
NPD6433 inhibits fatty acid synthesis through disruption of FMN-dependent NADPH oxidation by the ER domain of Fas1.
NPD6433 inhibits fatty acid synthesis by covalently adducting Fas1, inhibits virulence traits in diverse fungal pathogen.
NPD6433 is active against C. albicans in early stage infection models.
