Biological Activity

Obacunone is a naturally occurring limonoid triterpenoid with potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, activates PPARα, activates the Nrf2 signaling pathway, blocks the interaction between Nrf2 and KEAP1, and suppresses Nrf2 ubiquitination and degradation.
Obacunone regulates bile acid metabolism, fatty acid oxidation, inflammatory responses.
Obacunone inhibits human colon cancer (SW480) cells by the induction of apoptosis.
Obacunone inhibits ferroptosis, exhibits significant anti‑diabetic nephropathy (DN).
