P2165 (P-2165) is a anticoronaviruse chemical probe that inhibit SARS-CoV-2 Spike binding to human ACE2 receptor.
P2165 inhibits infection by human coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2, and decreases the binding of spike glycoprotein to its receptor ACE2.
P2165 targets a conserved hydrophobic binding pocket in the RBD with the benzyl thiol-reducing moiety pointed directly toward Cys432.
P2165 inhibits the SARS-CoV-2 infection by shifting the spike glycoprotein redox scaffold.
