RM1490 (RM 1490) is a potent, brain-penetrant µ opioid receptor (MOR) agonist with EC50 of 3.4 and 4.4 nM in GTPγS and cAMP assays, respectively.
RM1490 inhibits the cAMP response to DAMGO in competition assays.
RM1490 exhibits approximately half the intrinsic MOR efficacy of buprenorphine.
RM1490 (3 mg/kg) dose-dependently reduces the number of writhes in acetic acid–induced writhing.
RM1490 has a physiological and behavioral profile suitable for opioid use disorder maintenance therapy.
