SO-7g is a novel highly active HIV-1 nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), exhibits moderate to excellent potency against wild-type HIV-1 with EC50 of 5.3 nM.
SO-7g displayed 30- and 16-fold improvement than nevirapine and zidovudine and comparable potency to efavirenz and etravirine.
SO-7g showed promising activity against a variety of mutant strains, especially for L100I (EC50= 0.047 μM), K103 N (EC50= 0.056 μM), and E138K (EC50= 0.040 μM).
SO-7g also exhibited low cytotoxicity (CC50= 65.63 μM) and high selectivity index (SI= 12392).
