Biological Activity

Saeamid-1 is a potential antivirulence compound and SaeS-targeting antagonist against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), reduces hemolytic activity and biofilm biomass while having only limited effects on MRSA growth.
Saeamid-1 decreases hemolytic activity and biofilm biomass in MRSA reference strain USA300.
SaeS is a 351 amino acid membrane-associated histidine kinase that functions as a key sensor protein in the SaeRS two-component system of S. aureus.
