Biological Activity

UB-ALT-P2 is a potent and selective brain-penetrant negative allosteric modulator / antagonist of ATP-gated P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) with IC50 of 1.3 nM.
UB-ALT-P2 inhibits agonist-induced calcium influx through human, rat, and mouse P2X7Rs with IC50 of 0.38 nM, 130 nM and 35 nM respectively.
UB-ALT-P2 blunts weight loss, improves short- and long-term memory, reduces amyloid-β plaque burden, lowers hyperphosphorylated tau, and diminishes oxidative and inflammatory markers in the 5xFAD mouse model of AD.
