Y-39983 displays > 200-fold selectivity for p160ROCK than PKC, cAMP-dependent protein kianse and Mypsin light-chain kinase。
Y-39983 promotes regeneration of crushed axons of retinal ganglion cells into the optic nerve of adult cats, shows therapeutic potential for axonal regeneration of RGCs in the treatment of diseases with degenerating axons of RGCs including glaucoma.
