Biological Activity
YH-685 is a specific small molecule inhibitor of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) cytochrome bd terminal oxidase (Cyt-bd), inhibits Cyt-bcc-deficient M. smegmatis with MIC of 0.8 uM, enhances TB47-mediated inhibition of planktonic and intracellular Mtb.
YH-685 inhibits oxygen consumption rate (OCR) mycobacterial respiratory chain with IC50 of 0.45 uM in inverted membrane vesicles (IMVs) prepared from the Δbcc strain overexpressing Mtb Cyt-bd.
YH-685 enhances the growth-inhibitory effect of TB47 in both planktonic cultures and infected human macrophages.
