A1120 is a high affinity, non-retinoid ligand for retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) with Ki of 8.3 nM, disrupts the interaction between RBP4 and its binding partner transthyretin (TTR).
A1120 does not bind to CRBP1 and is selective against a panel of G-protein-coupled receptor, kinase, and enzyme targets.
A1120 binds to RBP4 with higher affinity than either retinol or fenretinide (Ki=125 nM for each).
A1120 (30 mg/kg, oral) decreasers serum RBP4 and retinol levels in B6D2F1 mice, but does not improve insulin sensitivity.
