Biological Activity
ASX-173 is a selective, cell-penetrable small molecule inhibitor of human asparagine synthetase (ASNS), inhibits L-asparagine production with IC50 of 0.5 uM,, induces the integrated stress response (ISR), and reduces cell growth in HEK-293A cells.
ASX-173 is an uncompetitive inhibitor with respect to Mg2+/ATP
ASX-173 binds to the synthetase site of human ASNS.
ASX-173 does not bind to evolutionarily related ATP pyrophosphatases, such as GMP synthetase (GMPS) and argininosuccinate synthetase (ASS1).
