Avotaciclib (BEY1107) is a potent, selective CDK1 (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 1) inhibitor, inhibits self-replication of cancer stem cells and is a candidate for pancreatic cancer treatment.
CDK1 is a cell cycle control protein involved in cell division process, blocks G2/M phase in cell division, and eliminates cancer stem cells.
BEY1107 not only controls the cell division of cancer cells but also may overcome the tolerance on anti-cancer drugs with targeting mechanism by eliminating cancer stem cells.
BEY1107 showed synergistic effects of inhibiting metastasis of cancer cell combined with gemcitabine for pancreatic cancer.
