A novel potent, selective, orally active aldosterone synthase inhibitor with IC50 of 2 nM, displays 150-fold selectivity over related cortisol synthase; demonstrates good in vivo profiling used an adrenocorticotropin-challenge model in which BI 689648 is >20-fold more selective compared with FAD286 and LCI699.
