Biological Activity

KPB82 is a potent and selective, competitive Alkaline ceramidase 2 (ACER2) inhibitor with IC50 of 190 nM, displaying minimal activity against ACER1, ACER3, ASAH1, or ASAH2.
KPB82 binds ACER2 within the substrate-binding pocket, interacts with catalytical amino acid residues of ACER2.
KPB82 does not inhibit nCDase and aCDase with IC50 of >100 uM.
KPB82 inhibits ACER2-mediated cytotoxicity of doxorubicin by inhibiting SPH generation in tumor and normal cells.
