MDB5 is a potent hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway inhibitor, exhibits stronger inhibition of the Hh pathway and anticancer effect in vitro and vivo than GDC-0449.
MDB5 treatment caused a significant reduction of ALDH1, CD44 and Oct-3/4 in MIA PaCa-2 cells.
MDB5 containing nanoparticles treated group showed significant inhibition of tumor growth without loss in body weight in pancreatic tumor mouse model.
The combination of QW-296 and MDB5 exhibited stronger anticancer activity toward DU145-TXR and PC3-TXR cells and suppressed taxane-resistant (TXR) prostate cancer colony formation when compared with single-drug treatment.
