Biological Activity
NPD11033 is a potent, selective, and cellular effective SIRT2 inhibitor with IC50 of 0.46 uM, inhibits deacetylase but not defatty-acylase reaction catalysed by SIRT2.
NPD11033 has only a marginal effect on other human sirtuin members including SIRT1 and SIRT3, also does not inhibit enzymatic activities of zinc-dependent HDACs, such as HDAC1 and HDAC6.
NPD11033 is a useful tool for both developing novel anti-cancer agents and elucidating the role of SIRT2 in various cellular biological processes.
