Biological Activity

Pyripyropene A (Pyri-A, PPPA) is a highly potent and selective inhibitor of acyl CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase 2 (ACAT2, Sterol O-acyltransferase 2, SOAT2) with IC50 of 70 nM, >1000-fold selective over SOAT1/ACAT1.
Pyripyropene A attenuates hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis in murine models of hyperlipidemia
Pyripyropene A significantly decreased leptin-induced proliferation, migration and invasion of MCF-7 and T47D cells.
