An antiprotozoal, antirheumatic and intrapleural sclerosing agent; inhibits histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT); also strongly induces p53 function, suppresses both basal and inducible activities of NF-kappaB in RCC and other types of cancer cells; promotes autophagic cell death and chemosensitivity in ovarian cancer and attenuates tumor growth.
