A selective, reversible, and competitive Vanin inhibitor with IC50 of 0.54 uM for hVVN1 pantetheinase; completely inhibits plasma vanin activity and caused alterations of plasma lipid concentrations in rats; inhibits PDGF-induced SMC proliferation and protects SMCs from TNF-α-induced apoptosis in vitro, attenuates transplant vasculopathy in rat aortic allografts; orally bioactive.
