Risedronate (Risedronic acid) is a bisphosphonate and potent antiresorptive agent, induces apoptosis, inhibits the transfer of farnesyl pyrophosphate groups to parasite proteins, inhibits blood-stage Plasmodium falciparum with IC50 of 20.3 uM, also is a small-molecule DKK1 antagonist that attenuates DKK1-mediated LRP6 sequestration, restores Wnt/β-catenin signaling.
