Biological Activity
Safotibant (LF22-0542) is a potent, selective nonpeptidic antagonist of kinin B1 receptor (BKB1R, B1R), with Ki of 0.35 and 6.5 nM, for human and mouse BKB1R, respectively.
Safotibant (LF22-0542) shows no affinity for the human B2 receptor.
Safotibant (LF22-0542) is a competitive B1 receptor antagonist and elicited significant antinociceptive actions in the mouse acetic acid-induced writhing assay.
Safotibant (LF22-0542) alleviated thermal hypersensitivity in both acute (carrageenan) and persistent inflammatory (complete Freund's adjuvant) pain models in rats.
