A potent and selective non-peptide antagonist of the neurokinin A (NK2) receptor; displays >1,000-fold selectivity over NK3 receptor, and does not affect the effects of bradykinin, angiotensin or bombesin; inhibits the bronchoconstriction induced by neurokinin A in guinea pigs; inhibits the cholinergic response of the isolated guinea-pig main bronchus to electrical field stimulation.
