TC-E 5003 is a selective inhibitor of arginine methyltransferase I (PRMT1) with IC50 of 1.5 uM, does not inhibit PRMT4 or the lysine methyltransferase Set7/9.
TC-E 5003 reduces the expression of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) and expressions of COX-2, TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 in RAW264.7 cells.
TC-E 5003 regulates LPS-induced AP-1 transcriptional activity by modulating the c-Jun gene expression.
TC-E 5003 downregulates the nuclear translocation of the nuclear factor (NF)-κB subunits p65 and p50 and AP-1 transcriptional factor c-Jun.
TC-E 5003 directly regulates c-Jun gene expression, and attenuates the activation of IκBα and Src in NF-κB signaling.
