Biological Activity

Taraxasterol a pentacyclic triterpene compound with anti-oxidative and anti-apoptotic properties, activates LXRα-ABCA1 signaling pathway, upregulates histidine triad nucleotide-binding protein 1 (Hint1) expression in liver cancer cells.
Taraxasterol prevents cisplatin-induced cochlear hair cell loss via inducing GNAQ.
Taraxasterol dose-dependently inhibits LPS-induced TNF-α and IL-1β production and NF-κB activation in BV2 microglia cells.
Taraxasterol dose-dependently suppresses MMP-1, MMP3, MMP13, PGE2 and NO production induced by IL-1β in osteoarthritic chondrocytes.
Taraxasterol protects against OVA-induced allergic asthma in mice.
Taraxasterol significantly inhibites the growth of HCC cells both in vitro and in vivo by regulating T lymphocytes.
Taraxasterol suppresses the growth of human liver cancer by upregulating Hint1 expression.
