FT-011 (SHP-627) is an anti-fibrotic agent that prevents TGF-beta-stimulated production of collagen in cultured renal mesangial cells (55-70% inhibition at 30 uM).
FT-011 inhibits both TGF-β1 and PDGF-BB induced collagen production as well as PDGF-BB-mediated mesangial proliferation, attenuates the decline in GFR, proteinuria and glomerulosclerosis in a robust model of non-diabetic kidney disease.
FT-011 attenuates fibrosis and chronic heart failure in experimental diabetic cardiomyopathy.
