PJ34 is a potent specific inhibitor of PARP1/2 with IC50 of 110 nM and 86 nM, respectively.
PJ34 significantly decreased myocardial PARP activation but not nitrotyrosine formation, and improved both cardiac dysfunction and vascular relaxation.
PJ34 prevents spontaneous and recurrent autoimmune diabetes in NOD mice by inducing apoptosis of islet-infiltrating leukocytes.
