Mito-C is a specific chemical compound targeting NEETs proteins, induces mitochondrial network fragmentation and represses dengue viral replication.
Mito-C modifies mitochondrial morphology and dynamics by stabilizing ER‐Mitochondria contact sites (ER‐MTcs).
Mito-C is able to counteract dengue virus‐induced mitochondria network hyperfusion and to strongly reduce Dengue virus replication, but not HBV replication cycle.
MITO‐C shows impact on NAF1 levels and subcellular localization.
Mito‐C causes DRP1‐dependent mitochondrial fission and ER‐mitochondria contact‐sites increase.
Mito‐C possesses in vitro anti‐viral properties specifically against viruses that enhance mitochondrial fusion as a necessary part of their replication cycle.
